AI finds the faces in your photo and covers them with a mosaic or a blur. Any face it misses, you can box yourself.
How to use it
- Upload a photo. Face detection starts as soon as it loads.
- Check the boxes it found. Press any face you do not want covered to exclude it.
- Drag on the photo to draw a box over any face that was missed.
- Choose mosaic, blur or a solid block, set the strength, and press the button.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. The face detection model is 227 KB and runs in your browser. A tool for hiding faces that shipped your photo to a server would be contradicting itself.
What if a face is not found?
Drag on the photo with your mouse or finger to draw a box, and that area is covered. Profiles, backs of heads, small faces and masked faces are the usual misses, so always check with your own eyes before applying.
Is mosaic or blur safer?
A strong mosaic is safer. Light blur is known to be relatively vulnerable to reconstruction attempts. For anything that must be truly hidden — ID cards, name badges — use the solid block, which leaves no pixels to work back from.
Why is the result a PNG?
Re-compressing a covered area as JPEG creates ringing artefacts around the mosaic grid and makes the edges look dirty. If you need a smaller file, send the result on to the Compress tool.
Is the face data completely gone?
From the result image, yes — and the result carries no EXIF or GPS data from the original either. The original file on your device is untouched, so share the result, not the original.
Can I do several photos at once?
Yes. Upload several and each is scanned separately; use the thumbnails to move between them and check the boxes. The method and strength apply to all of them.
