Do iPhone HEIC files open?
Yes. HEIC is detected from its magic bytes, so a file renamed to .jpg still opens correctly — which is common with photos sent from iPhones.
Does converting remove location data?
Yes. Conversion redraws the pixels, so EXIF — including GPS coordinates, camera model and timestamp — does not survive. That is often the real reason people convert before sharing.
Can I turn an image into a PDF?
Yes. Choose PDF and pick a page size: A4, Letter, or the image's own dimensions. The JPEG data is embedded without re-encoding, so quality does not drop a second time.
Which format is best for the web?
WebP. It is typically 30–40% smaller than JPG at the same quality and every current browser supports it. Keep PNG only when you need lossless output or transparency without any loss.
Do RAW files (CR2, NEF) work?
No. RAW files hold sensor data rather than an image, and decoding them requires camera-specific processing that browsers do not have. Export to JPG or TIFF in your camera software first.
